Four Rivers Co-op is hiring a Full-time Permanent BAKERY/DELI MANAGER at our Grocery Store in Vanderhoof, BC. The food store is open 7 days a week. This position is varying shifts with rotating weekends.

What you will do:
Reporting to the Assistant Store Manager you will be responsible for the following:
• Developing a strong workplace culture which demonstrates Four Rivers Co-operative’s values of Service, Integrity, Excellence and Responsibility in everything we do
• Developing and maintaining a team in your department that consistently delivers legendary service to make all guests of our Co-op feel “at home here.”

• Assisting with the development and achievement of operating plans and budgets; analyzing changes that affect the Bakery/Deli Department’s operation and goals, consulting with the Assistant Store Manager and making necessary changes or adjustments to meet or exceed expectations
• Executing and overseeing the efficient purchasing, invoice reconciliation, inventory management and shipping and receiving as well as pricing strategies to achieve optimum sales and margin; maintaining accurate inventory with minimal shrink
• Ensuring established Occupational Health and Safety programs are delivered and adhered to in a consistent manner, ensuring appropriate asset protection
• Scheduling. overseeing and delegating daily workload among staff
• Developing strategies to improve customer service, drive bakery/deli sales and improve profitability
• Managing your team by hiring, training, coaching, performance planning, reviews and conflict resolution
• Attending management and training meetings as required
• Working co-operatively with other departments and suppliers
• Handling and preparing bakery/deli products in accordance with company quality standards and food safety protocols
• Regular heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs required

Who you are:
• Grade 12 Required. Diploma or Undergraduate degree in Business/Marketing/Finance/Logistics or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum of 5 years leading and managing teams/direct, preferably in a related or service industry
• Experience with planning, budgeting, and operating statements
• Knowledge of Food Store industry and inventory control procedures
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of people
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands, detail oriented with a commitment to quality
• Strong computer skills and technical knowledge
• Experience in retail in a similar position is considered an asset
• Adaptable, organized, efficient and committed
• Be a team member with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands

Our Team Members receive competitive salaries. We encourage our Team Members to take advantage of learning opportunities, to grow and develop and to foster a culture of teamwork and innovation. The pay scale for this position is $49,240 to $61,550 per year. Starting pay of applicants will be based off knowledge, skills and experience.
