Four Rivers Co-op is hiring a FULL-TIME SECURITY GUARD at our mall in Vanderhoof, BC.

We are seeking a friendly and experienced security guard at the Vanderhoof Co-op mall. This position will be Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 am – 6:00 pm. You will ensure the safety of people and property through patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding to security incidents.

What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Project and Facilities Manager you will be responsible for the following:
• Demonstrate Four Rivers Co-operative’s values of Responsibility, Integrity, Service, and Excellence, in everything we do.
• Promote our Co-op brand values: Locally Invested, Community-Minded, and Lifetime Membership Benefits.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
• Provide professional interaction and cooperation with internal (various departments) and external (law enforcement agencies).
• Report and record incidents into a digital action tracking system.
• Sweep and shovel sidewalks and entrances as required.

What you bring:
• Be 19 years of age or older.
• Hold a valid BC security license (the successful candidate will have three months to complete the course).
• An Occupational First Aid Level 1 certificate would be considered an asset.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Be a team member with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to de-escalate situations in a discrete and timely manner.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands.
• Basic computer skills and technical knowledge
• Experience in a similar position would be considered an asset.
• You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented, and strive to be the best in what you do.

The pay scale for this position is $17.95 to $24.75 per hour. The starting pay of applicants will be based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
