Mechanic Helper

Job Overview: Reporting to the Agro Manager, you’ll be involved in:
• Assist mechanics in routine maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on Agro equipment and other related machineries
• Troubleshoot mechanical and basic issues such as tools, parts, and equipment as needed
• Support compliance checks related to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Transport parts, tools, and vehicles within the shop or yard as needed and provide general support to site operations
• Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
• Support inventory management and stocking of repair parts and tools
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing tools and equipment, disposing of waste materials, and cleaning up spills promptly.
• Uphold all safety standards and operational policies of the Co-op and WorkSafeBC
What You Bring:
• Enrollment in or completion of a Heavy Duty Mechanic Program is an advantage
• Mechanically inclined and well experienced is an asset
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Familiarity with Agro industry equipment is an asset but not required
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle emergency repairs
• Good communication and record-keeping skills
• Willingness to complete certifications or training (e.g., Agro Mechanic courses, First Aid, TDG,WHMIS)
