Four Rivers Co-op is hiring a permanent Full-Time Store Manager at our Food Store in Vanderhoof, BC.

Job Overview: As our Store Manager, you’ll be a responsible for the overall leadership and performance of a $19M food store operation. You will support a positive work culture, help guide performance and development, and ensure our people operations align with our Co-op values. Reporting to the Retail Division Manager you will be responsible for:
• Providing strategic and operational leadership to the Food Store, ensuring consistent delivery of Four Rivers Co-op’s values of Responsibility, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
• Leading, coaching, and developing a strong leadership team of Department Managers across Grocery, Meat, Produce, and Bakery/Deli.
• Creating and sustaining a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture that delivers legendary customer service.
• Developing, managing, and achieving annual operating plans, budgets, and financial targets; analyzing performance and implementing adjustments to meet or exceed sales, margin, and expense goals
• Overseeing all aspects of store operations including merchandising, inventory management, purchasing, pricing strategies, shrink control, and asset protection.
• Partnering with the Marketing team to execute promotions, merchandising standards, and programs that maximize sales and customer engagement.
• Ensuring Occupational Health & Safety, food safety, and regulatory standards are consistently met.
• Leading workforce planning including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
• Driving improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and profitability.
• Building strong relationships with suppliers, internal departments, and community partners.
• Representing the Co-op brand in the community and supporting community-focused initiatives.
• Attending management meetings, training, and professional development opportunities as required.

What You Bring:
• Grade 12 required; Post-secondary education in Business or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive retail or food store leadership experience, including senior management
• Proven experience managing large teams (50+ employees) and leading multiple department managers
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, operating statements, sales targets, and margin performance
• Solid understanding of food retail operations, inventory control, merchandising, and shrink management
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and retail management systems
• A values-driven leader who aligns with Co-op principles and community-focused business practices
